Android N is named as Nougat, not Naiyyappam, not Naankhatai.
Google Android has finally announced that its next version will be called Android Nougat, after the popular confectionery made of sugar or honey with nuts. Originally from Italy, this chewy sweet is believed to have been first created in the 15th century.
Android, the operating system from Google that pretty much rules over the smartphone world, has a naming convention based on sweets. So Android K was KitKat, L was Lollypop and M Marshmallow. Now, we can just hope that Android O will be named after Obbattu.
Google CEO welcomed the new name and thanked those who helped pin point on the sweet choice.
