Mumbai, India’s financial capital, is among the list of wealthiest cities globally. According to New World Wealth’s report, Mumbai is the 12th wealthiest city in the world, followed by Toronto and Frankfurt with Paris finishing the top 15 list.
The total wealth of a city refers to the wealth of all the individuals living in a city, held privately. This includes their property, cash, equities and business interests, etc. GPFs are excluded from this. With a total wealth of $950 billion, Mumbai overtook Toronto, Frankfurt, and Paris in the list of top 15 wealthiest cities globally.
The report by New World Wealth said, “Total wealth held in the city amounts to $950 billion. Mumbai is the economic hub of India. It is also home to the Bombay Stock Exchange, the 12th largest stock exchange in the world. Major industries in the city include financial services, real estate, and media.” Major industries in Mumbai include financial services, media, and real estate. New York topped the list with a total wealth of $3 trillion.
