One of the greatest allrounders of Indian cricket history, Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from international and IPL. Today he did a press conference in Mumbai, in which he has called it quits to his international and IPL career.
Yuvraj Singh Debut
Yuvraj Singh made his debut in 2000 ICC Knockout Trophy against Kenya. However, he did not get the chance to bat in that match. It was in the quarterfinal match of the same tournament where he got the chance to bat and the match was against Australia. Yuvraj Singh played an amazing inning of 84 in just 80 balls against one of the best pace trio of that time, McGrath, Lee, and Jason Gillespie.
2002 Natwest Final
His innings in 2002 Natwest final was also of the crucial knocks which led winning the final of the series against England. India were 146/5 in the chase of 326. Yuvraj along with Kaif shared a 121 runs partnership. Yuvraj scored 69 in 63 balls and India won that match by two wickets. Kaif made 87 not out in that. This win is regarded as India’s one of the greatest ODI victories.
2007 T20 World Cup
Yuvraj Singh played a crucial role for India to win the 2007 inaugural T20 World Cup in South Africa. No cricket fan can forget his 6 sixes in an over of Stuart Board, England at Kingsmead, Durban. His 12 ball 50 is the fastest fifty ever in T20 International Cricket.

2011 World Cup
The one man who played a very crucial role for India to win the World Cup in 2011 is Yuvraj Singh. His all-round performance bagged him the Player of the Tournament award. During 2011 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh scored 362 runs which include one century, four half-centuries, 15 wickets and four Man of the match awards.
Fight Against Cancer
During the 2011 World Cup, Yuvraj Singh started having issues of breathing, nausea, and bouts of vomiting blood while batting. He was not aware of the tumor inside him. He played the entire World Cup and became the Player Of The Tournament. Yuvraj cancer was detected by a Russian doctor in 2011. He underwent chemotherapy treatment at Boston and Indianapolis. In March 2012, he was discharged from hospital and returned to India after completing the final cycle of chemotherapy.
Comeback
He came back from cancer and again played for India. He also scored his top score of 150 runs in 127 balls after coming back in 2017 series against England. Yuvraj Singh has won 7 Man of the series award just next to Sachi Tendulkar who has 14. Yuvraj Singh has played a total of 399 international matches in which he scored 11686 runs and took 147 wickets.
Today he announced his retirement from international cricket. Yuvraj Singh told in a press conference.
“This game taught me how to fight, how to fall, to dust myself off and get up again and move forward. I have failed more times than I have succeeded, but I never gave up, and will never give up, till my last breath”
