Youths are always referred to as the future of a country. Every year International Youth Day is celebrated on 12th August. This year the theme is ‘Engagement of Youth for Global action.’ The young age is very uncertain, but here are India’s most influential youth icons which surprise and inspire millions with their achievements and prove that age is not the limit.
1. Neeraj Chopra- India’s 1st Olympic Gold Medalist In Track and Field

Neeraj Chopra is India’s first field athlete to win the gold medal during the Tokyo Olympics 2020. His story inspires many youths in India. Neeraj was an obese kid; his family made him do some exercises to stay in shape. In-ground he saw others practicing with a javelin, and that catches his interest. That was the time when he decided to practice javelin and to perform for India.
2. Parikul Bharadwaj (13)
Parikul is the youngest social worker in the country. She works with her doctor’s parents in the Kedarnath region, providing medical attention to the tourists and pilgrims. She has won the National Bravery Award for saving the lives of the two pilgrims.
3. Bhargsetu Sharma (22)

Bhargsetu swam for 12 minutes underwater and performed CPR for 21 minutes to save a young man who was drowning in the Mahisagar river. She won many awards for her bravery at the state level. Bhargsetu also received Raksha Mantri Padak 2019. She is also the founder of Humans with Humanity, an animal rescue and welfare community. She has rescued more than 3800 animals.
4. Sucheta Satish (13)
At the age of 12 years, Sucheta created twin world records for singing in 102 languages during one concert and performing in the longest live concert. According to the News18 report, she recently won the 100 Global Child Prodigy Award.
5. Malhar Kalambe (21)

In 2017, Malhar and his friends started a drive at Mumbai’s Dadar beach to collect the garbage thrown by the visitors. They started it as a weekend activity which is now turned into a full-fledged cleanup movement engaging over 20,000 people. As a result, around 1000 tons of plastic waste and other waste were collected from the beach. The United Nations felicitated him on the International Volunteer Day on December 5, 2018.
