Jio has quietly announced the launch of a new prepaid recharge package. The new plan is also the cheapest prepaid recharge plan available in the country, among all network carriers. It costs Rs. 1 and has a 30-day validity period. The cheapest recharge plan is ideal for customers who do not want to overspend on data. Furthermore, at the time of writing, the recharge plan is visible on the MyJio app but not on the website. Jio has also reduced the price of its Rs. 119 prepaid recharge plan, making it the cheapest option among its unlimited plans.
The Rs. 1 prepaid recharge plan for Jio comes with 30 days of validity and 100MB of data, according to TelecomTalk. Users will be able to browse the Internet at a speed of 64Kbps after consuming the data.
Jio’s new recharge plan is available in the MyJio app’s Value section under other plans, but not on the website. According to TelecomTalk, recharging this plan 10 times will provide consumers with about 1GB of high-speed internet, which is still less than the dedicated 1GB data plan, which costs Rs. 15 per month.
Apart from Jio, no other network operator in the country now offers a prepaid recharge plan for less than Rs. 1 at present time. As previously said, this plan is ideal for consumers who do not want to pay for more data than they need. At this time, there is no word on how many customers will be able to recharge using this plan.
Earlier this week, the Reliance Industries-owned telco changed the Rs 119 recharge plan to make it the most affordable of its ‘unlimited plan’ array. The new package includes 300 SMS each day, 1.5GB of high-speed broadband per day, and unlimited voice conversations.

The new Rs. 119 plan is essentially a revamped version of the company’s previous Rs. 98 plan, which offered similar features. Apart from the price, the validity term is the only other variation. The Rs. 119 plan is good for 14 days, while the Rs 98 plan was valid for 28 days.
Aside from the base plan, the old Rs 129 prepaid package is now Rs 155 and has a 28-day validity period. Users can get 2GB of internet bandwidth per month and 300 SMS in total. After that, Rs. 179 (formerly Rs. 149), Rs. 239 (previously Rs 199), and Rs. 299 (previously Rs 249) plans all give up to 28 days of validity and 2GB of internet data. Plans with 56-day validity, which were previously priced at Rs. 399 and Rs. 444, are now priced at Rs. 479 and Rs. 533, respectively, and include up to 2GB of internet data each day.
Last month, Jio boosted prepaid recharge costs, following rivals Airtel and Vodafone Idea. The increase took effect on December 1 and affected Jio’s unlimited phone and internet services. The telco didn’t even name it a price increase, instead of implying that it was introducing new options.
