According to the Vancouver Sun, a frightening occurrence occurred at the Fraserview Banquet Hall. It featured Amarpreet Samra, commonly known as “Chucky.” The incident occurred less than 30 minutes after Amarpreet and his brother, Ravinder, were seen dancing with other wedding attendees. They are both members of the UN Gang; just before 1:30 a.m., the event occurred on Fraser Street.

According to witnesses, a group of unidentified persons returned to the banquet hall and requested that the music be turned down. When this incident occurred, there were approximately 60 visitors present at the location. Amarpreet and Ravinder invited guests to the wedding, but the presence of these anonymous individuals interrupted the joyous environment and ultimately led to a tragic outcome.

The police reported, “Multiple 9-1-1 callers reported one man had been shot outside a South Vancouver banquet hall near Fraser Street and South East Marine Drive at 1:30 a.m. Patrol officers performed CPR on the victim until paramedics arrived, but he died from his injuries.”

Authorities investigating the shooting believe it was a targeted attack related to the ongoing gang conflict. However, the investigation is still ongoing as law enforcement agencies work hard to obtain more evidence and determine the full scope of the tragedy.

Individuals with relevant information that could assist the investigators are encouraged to call the Vancouver Police Homicide Unit at 604-717-2500. Cooperation from the public is critical in supporting authorities in bringing those guilty to justice and ensuring community safety.
