It has only been a day since Adipurush made its release on the big screen. Considering the movie is based on the Indian epic mythology Ramayana, cinephiles had huge expectations. However, just in 24 hours or so, it has disappointed the audience in the worst possible manner. The movie is getting a lot of mixed signals. On the one hand, some audiences were happy with the film, but on the other, most people considered it a terrible depiction with cringe dialogue. It triggered the Hindu Sena leader to the extent that he filed a PIL against Adipurush. If you are curious to know more about it, then read on. Here is Adipurush Full Review.
Adipurush Has Triggered Audience With Terrible Dialogues
While the VFX has been very disappointing for the fans, so has the depiction and dialogues of Adipurush. Fans have to say that the movie seems like a “modern adaptation” and not what was there in Valmiki’s Ramayana or Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas. Furthermore, to say that because of this reason, it has hurt the sentiments of many Hindu viewers would be a sheer understatement.
The movie stars Kriti Sanon, Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta Nage in pivotal roles. Furthermore, it is not a new thing that people are not wooed by the dialogues so much. However, a movie that is based on an epic like Ramayana did deserve powerful dialogues. Adipurush failed to deliver so.
Hanumanji said before burning Lanka in Ramayan
यो ह्ययं मम लाङ्गूले दीप्यते हव्यवाहनः।
अस्य सन्तर्पणं न्याय्यं कर्तुमेभिर्गृहोत्तमैः।।Hanumanji says before burning Lanka in Aadipurush:
कपड़ा तेरे बाप का।
तेल तेरे बाप का।
आग भी तेरे बाप की।
तो जलेगी भी तेरे बाप की।#Adipurush…— Praneet Samaiya (@praneetsamaiya) June 16, 2023
Dialogues like “Kapda tere baap ka! Tel tere baap ka! Jalegi bhi tere baap ki!” are not the type that fans expected Hanuman ji to say in the movie. Another cringe-worthy dialogue was when Indrajeet told Hanuman ji, “Teri bua ka bageecha hai kya jo hawa khaane chala aaya.”
No wonder why the Hindu Sena filed a PIL against the movie. It definitely has hurt the sentiments of many viewers, and this was something that was not expected.
Hindu Sena Files PIL Against The Movie
The National Capital’s Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta came forward to file a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) against the controversial movie Adipurush. He claims that the film is not the actual depiction of Ramayana but its mockery. As per the reports, the petition stated, as we quote,
“This is a written petition in the shape of public interest litigation under article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of an appropriate writ in the nature of direction to the respondents for removal of objectionable scenes deepicting religious leaders/characters/figures in bad taste and issues a writ of mandamus to the respondents directing them to not certify the feature film ‘Adipurush’ for public exhibition and pass such other or further order as this hon’ble court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case.”
Via this petition, Vishnu Gupta also alleged that Adipurush has, as we quote,
“Hurt the sentiments of the Hindu community by depicting the religious leaders/characters/figures in an inaccurate and inappropriate manner.”
The petition further claimed that this PIL by the Hindu Sena had been filed for, as we quote,
“The benefit of the public in general who may be incapable of accessing the court themselves because they are not fully/properly equipped, financially and at the same time legally.”
As expected, Adipurush starts off with a bang ✨
