Wife’s Mental Torture And Harassment Led To Aakash Shukla’s Demise

Bhardwaj recalled that Aakash Shukla, an employee in Aaj Tak as an assistant editor since 2021. He had started up an interaction with her on Sunday. Throughout their conversation, Shukla described the emotional agony resulting from his wife and her parents. Bhardwaj said that his marriage was deliberately forced upon him and frequently threatened him with legal consequences. She expressed her desire to assist in the matter’s resolution in her tweet, but regrettably, senior journalist Shukla is reported to have committed suicide.

Bhardwaj provided more information about the events following up on Shukla’s suspected suicide in a different tweet, including incidents of physical abuse. Shukla reportedly confided in her that his wife had ruined his reputation by slandering him online. Bhardwaj further disclosed that Shukla felt pressured to get married in court to save his profession and that he was under pressure from his father-in-law to attend a social function that needed a substantial financial outlay, which he couldn’t afford.

She continued by saying that Shukla was incredibly distressed and worried about his parents since he felt he was to blame for their problems. He also revealed instances of fights between them that involved physical contact. Bhardwaj expressed her sorrows, ‘I am unable to comprehend this.’

 

According To The Police Report

As reported by the police, a 31-year-old journalist of a national news station allegedly hanged himself at his home in Pandav Nagar, east Delhi. There was no suicide note found there. After receiving a PCR call about the event at around 10.40 am, a police squad hastened to the residence. When the victim’s room was discovered to be locked from inside, a fire brigade was sent to smash down the door.

No signs of foul play have been found thus far, according to his wife’s testimony and a spot check, the police said, adding that they are continuing their investigation.
