All new Meerut Metro trains with classy and luxurious facilities have been disclosed to the public. The Meerut Metro is also considered to be the fastest metro service in India. This Metro is totally ‘Made in India’. It comes with a range of passenger comforts.
NCRTC (National Capital Region Transport Corporation) manages the Delhi-Meerut metro rail project. It will operate these trains. The train is manufactured by Alstom at their vision in Savli, Gujarat.

Color
The color scheme used for the exterior of the Meerut Metro is fluorescent green, blue, and orange.
Passenger Capacity
A single Meerut Metro train has 3 coaches. It holds a capacity of more than 700 passengers at a time.
Distance And Time
Metro will be covering 23 km distance with 13 stations. 23 km includes 18 km of elevated and 5 km of underground sections. In which nine stations are elevated, three are underground, and one is a depot station. The names of the stations are Meerut South, Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Brahampuri, Meerut Central, Bhaisali, Begumpul, MES Colony, Daurli, Meerut North, Modipuram, and Modipuram Depot. This distance will be covered within 30 minutes.
Meerut Metro Additional Features
Features: In the interior, the metro has luggage racks, grab handles, a USB mobile charging facility, CCTV cameras, fire extinguishers, alarms, and an emergency communication system for the passenger’s comfort. The train has a parking area for wheelchairs inbuilt. If we talk about doors, it is a little different from the usual doors of metros. Here, you will have to press the button on the door to exit and enter the train once the train halts at the station.
Speed
As it is expected to be the fastest in India, the train service has coaches designed to reach speeds of 135 kmph. The maximum operating speed will be 120 kmph, which is equal to Delhi’s Airport Metro speed.
Seating Area
Seating will only be available for 173 passengers. Passengers will experience air-conditioned coaches. The coaches will have a 2×2 transverse and longitudinal arrangement. It will lead to a more spacious ride. There will be reserved seats for female passengers and senior citizens in each coach.
Meerut Metro Safety
The Meerut Metro is built with a regenerative braking system. The train is compatible with Automatic Train Protection (ATP) and Automatic Train Operations (ATO). Platform Screen Doors (PSDs) will also be installed at all the stations, which will be merged with metro operations. It will help in ensuring crowd management. Else than this emergency communication system, fire extinguishers, alarms, and a talkback system are already there for the passenger’s safety.
