The Aam Aadmi leader, Raghav Chadha, was suspended from the Rajya Sabha for “gross violation of rules, misconduct, defiant attitude, and contemptuous conduct. This was done following a motion by the leader of the house, who took action against the AAP leader for including the names of some house members without their consent. The incident took place when MPs Sasmit Patra, S Phangnon Konyak, M Thambidurai, and Narhai Amin alleged that the AAP leader included their names in a motion. The motion moved against the Delhi Services Bill on August 7 without seeking their permission. However, the motion was passed by a voice vote.

Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar forwarded the complaints to the privileged committee for further inquiry. The Union Minister and the Leader of the House claimed that Raghav Chadha’s conduct was “unethical” and displayed “outrageous disregard of the rules.” Claiming that the government has made a watertight case. Piyush Goyal stated, “All six members are disturbed and hurt and looking to the chair of justice.”

The Aam Aadmi Party claimed that the Bharatiya Janta Party was making “deliberate attempts to implicate” Raghav Chadha. They termed allegations against Raghav Chadha as “false and politically motivated.” On August 7, Raghav Chadha proposed the constitution of a select committee to consider the ‘Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Bill, 2023.’ The motion further included the signatures of four members of the parliament.

Although, the final Judgements are yet to be passed. The young Aam Aadmi Party leader is accused of hurting the sentiments of six members of the parliament. But, on the Flip-side, the accused party denies all the allegations. Moreover, they claim that these are deliberate actions the opposition party takes. Do you think this is a trick by the Bhartiya Janta Party to defame Aam Aadmi Party? If so, then why doesn’t anyone take action against it? What are your views on the topic discussed above?
