One of the best and legendary cricketers AB De Villiers took the retirement from all forms of International Cricket with immediate effect. Mr. 360 announced the same on twitter.
The 34-year-old batsman opined the ‘the time is right’ for him bringing a close to his scintillating 14-year career. This is what Ab De Villiers told
“I have decided to retire from all international cricket with immediate effect,” he said on Wednesday. “After 114 Test matches, 228 ODI’s and 78 T20 Internationals, it is time for others to take over. I have had my turn, and to be honest, I am tired.

“This is a tough decision, I have thought long and hard about it and I’d like to retire while still playing decent cricket. After the fantastic series wins against India and Australia, now feels like the right time to step aside.
Ab De Villiers began his international career as a wicket-keeper batsman, but then he mostly played solely as a batsman. He is recognized as one of the most innovative batsmen in the modern game. De Villiers is noted for many unorthodox shots behind the wicket-keeper and slips, which earned him the nickname Mr. 360. He further said,
“It would not be right for me to pick and choose where, when and in what format I play for the Proteas. For me, in the green and gold, it must be everything or nothing. I will always be grateful to the coaches and staff of Cricket South Africa for their support through all these years. The most important thank you goes out to all of my teammates throughout my career, I wouldn’t be half the player that I am without the support throughout the years.
Ab De Villiers made his international debut in a Test match against England in 2004 and first played an ODI in early 2005. His debut in Twenty20 International cricket came in 2006.
Devilliers posted on Twitter along with his video about his decision
“I have made a big decision today,”
Ab De Villiers was just 3 centuries away from his 50 centuries. Such a selfless cricketer, always played with the spirit of the game, shown sportsmanship, and an amazing athlete. Check out his superman catch against SRH in IPL 2018.
This is a big loss to the game of cricket and also created a big gap in the South African team which will take a long time to fill.
