From the coastal city of Kozhikode in Kerala, meet India’s first professional kite flyers – Abdulla and his team. India’s first professional kite team. They are known as one India Kite Team. Furthermore, Abdulla Maliyekkal uses inflatable kite technology in his kites.

In addition, When air comes in the kites, it will make it inflate. They have wonderful designs and colorful kites which surely are eye catchy. They use strong nylon strings to fly the kites. However, flying these kites is not a one-man task. They fly it as a team. Furthermore, one team member flies the pilot kite which helps to lift off the main kite. With the help of the pilot kite, they inflate the bigger kite. In addition, Some kites require to be 100-150ft above ground level and 800kg of air pressure. Thus, making it impossible to fly it in small spaces like a terrace. Furhtermore, They can be flown only in open grounds or near the sea.

 

World’s Biggest Kite Maker

In addition, Abdulla was inspired into this by World’s biggest kite maker, Peter Lynn. Kites of One India Kite Team is made by Peter Lynn himself.

Furthermore, They participate in several competitions around the world and their famous kathakali kite even won the best traditional kite award in China. Abdulla aims to make the biggest kite in the size the same as a football ground! Let’s hope the happens so that we can witness the wonder come into action.

First of all, This was done at Katara Beach as a demo by the One India Kite Team. The spectators even joined in on flying the large kite and this design is one of the most famous designs from Italy. Furthermore, The circle kite is said to weigh about 12.5kgs and has a huge diameter of about 45ft. In addition, The design of the kite has 300 spikes which are the air holes for the kite to be air bourne.
