Asaram Found Guilty Of Rape, Sentenced To Life Imprisonment – Check Out The Video

Jodhpur Central Jail ruled a special trial today where Asaram was charged with Rape of a Teenager in 2013. Asaram was found guilty and has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Asaram who claimed to be a saint and held crores of properties across overseas was charged with a Rape case in 2013.

Today Jodhpur court released a verdict where Asaram was guilty of the offense of Rape. The other two people convicted in the rape Shilpi and Sharad Chandra got twenty years each in prison.

Asaram along with two of his workers was acquitted today.  Asaram was lodged in the Jodhpur Central Jail for the last 5 years. This was to prevent the riots and violence from the followers of Asaram.

According to the father of the victim, Asaram raped the little teenager aged 16 years old back in 2013. She was a student of the ashram in Manai Village near Jodhpur. She alleged that Asaram called her to the ashram in Manai area where he raped her on the night of 15 August 2013. Later the family lodged a complaint against Asaram in Delhi from where the case was initiated. Now that the verdict is out they say ” Asaram is convicted, we have got justice. I want to thank everyone who supported us in this fight. Now I hope he will get strict punishment,”

 

Bail Rejected

Asaram who is said to be 77 years old was taken to Jodhpur Central Jail from where he applied for 12 bail applications, all of them were rejected by Trial Court, High Court, and Supreme Court. Asaram was found guilty under POCSO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and the Scheduled Castes and Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Ever since the complaint was lodged against Asaram there emerged many victims who initiated separate cases against Asaram and his son Narayan Sai.  Two sisters from Gujrat filed separate cases against Asaram and his son Narayan Sai accusing them of Murder and wrongful confinement.

 

High Security

Jodhpur Police imposed section 144 for unlawful assembly in order to prevent the violations in the city following the verdict. Special Courtroom was set up in Jodhpur Central Jail in order to keep the security as Asaram has a large follower base. High security had been promised by the Rajasthan High Court who also ordered 10 days prohibitory order starting from 21 April.

Strict action has been taken by the police force to ensure that no followers enter the city during the days of prohibition. Hotels, Ashrams, and other places are directed not to host any of the followers of Asaram. Along with this Gujrat, Haryana and UP police force also tightened up their security. A special police force has been directed to tighten the security around the house of the victim. Intelligence force, armed officers and lady Constables are keeping an eye on the activities around the house of this victim. The family chose to stay inside their home on the day of the verdict.
