On Sunday, Arvind Kejriwal surprised everyone with his announcement. He announced that he had decided to resign as the Chief Minister of Delhi within 48 hours. There is speculation spreading about who would take up his position. The announcement was made just after the day he was granted bail in the excise policy case.

His bail was under several conditions, such as that he wasn’t supposed to enter the Chief Minister’s office or was not allowed to sign any official documents. He is only allowed to do so if necessary. He said,

“The elections are supposed to be held in February. I demand elections be held in November with Maharashtra elections. Till elections are held, someone else from the party will be the Chief Minister.”

Arvind Kejriwal expressed that he would want to return to office only when he declared himself honest in the eyes of the people. After this announcement, questions about who would take up the position for the upcoming four months were raised.

Before joining AAP, he worked as a professional chartered accountant (CA). This 35-year-old man is known for being a young politician in the country. Taking credit for the party’s success in Punjab, on 18 September 2022, Chadha was appointed as co-in-charge for the 2022 Gujrat Assembly elections. He is the voice of AAP, consistently addressing key issues in Parliament.

Gopal is a seasoned leader in the party who holds a long-lasting role. He is known for his experience and honesty with AAP since its establishment. He is considered to be a capable option for the party. If he is appointed as the CM, it could lead to the right choice for the state.

“In the whole world, he might be the only CM who has asked people to vote for him only if he is honest, otherwise not to vote for him, that too after resigning from his post. That person is taking such a big risk to his whole career.”

Currently, he is out on bail, just like Mr Arvind Kejriwal and Mr. Manish Sisodia.
