The Icelandic footballer who plays as a defender for Víkingur. He made his national debut against Italy back in 2005. Now he is a veteran defender. Back in 2016 Euro Cup, he was the chronic threat for Lionel Messi and avoided him for taking perfect shots.
8. Sergio Ramos – Spain
When it is about the defenders, it is impossible to overlook the name, Sergio Ramos. The 32-year-old Spanish defender is the captain of the professional football club, Real Madrid. He predominantly plays at the central defense position but still, he manages to score sometimes.
9. Hector Moreno – Mexico
The Mexican professional footballer plays for Spanish club Real Sociedad and the Mexico national team as a central defender. In FIFA 2018 match between Germany and Mexico, Hector put in great efforts to avoid the opposition from scoring.
10. John Stones – England
England’s chronic failure in the FIFA World Cup brought scrutiny to its players. John Stones also faces the aftermath of the defeats. FIFA 2018 can be considered a good opportunity for England as well as for Stones.
