Ranaut, contesting on a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ticket from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, won the seat with a commanding majority of 74,755 votes against her Congress opponent, Vikramaditya Singh. The standard monthly remuneration of Rs 1 lakh will be received by new Indian MP Kangana Ranaut. It was increased in 2018 to reflect inflation and growing living expenses. A monthly constituency grant of Rs 70,000 would be given to her to cover the costs of running her office and interacting with voters.  In addition, she would get Rs 60,000 a month to handle office costs such as personnel pay, telephones, stationery, and administrative requirements.

During their five-year tenure, Members of Parliament are provided with rent-free apartments in prime areas of the national capital, along with housing allowances worth Rs 2,00,000 per month if they choose not to utilize the official residence. She will also get substantial travel benefits, such as thirty-four complimentary domestic flights annually for her and her immediate family, in addition to mileage allowances to guarantee efficient voter participation and fulfillment of her responsibilities. Ranaut is entitled to complimentary first-class rail travel for both personal and professional reasons. She would also get Rs 2,000 a day for accommodation, meals, and other miscellaneous costs while in the country’s capital.

She stated, “The film world is a lie, everything there is fake. They create a very different environment. It is a glossy world like a fake bubble which is to attract the audience. This is the reality. I am a very passionate person. I never wanted to do a job because I had to. Even in films I start writing, and when I get bored of playing a role, I direct or produce, so I have a very fertile mind and I want to be passionately engaged.”
