Boxing is one of the toughest sports. Not because it is about getting punched in the head but it is about the stiff competition. The boxers go through hard training and they take less rest when a fight is near. This makes some of the boxers ill. This time a 31-year-old British boxer named Scott Westgarth died after winning the bout.
A British Boxer Died After Winning A Bout
He fought a 10 round battle against Dec Spelman on the Sunday evening event and scored a point victory over him. After the official announcement of the result, he completed his post-fight interview and headed to the locker room. He fell ill so he was rushed to a hospital. Following his illness, the rest of the event was canceled. Unfortunately, the British Boxer died on Monday morning and the other boxers showed their grief on social media.
He Used To Be A Footballer
Westgarth turned pro back in 2013. Before that he used to be a footballer. He was amazed by boxing so he decided to pursue a career in it. He had fought 10 professional fights and had scored 7 wins out of which two came from the knockout.
Other Boxers Showed Their Grief
Curtis Woodhouse, who was supposed to be in the main event of the show, took to social media and wrote: “Heartbreaking news about Scott Westgarth. RIP champ.” Moreover, other boxers showed their emotion and prayed for the well being of Westgarth’s family.

The British Warrior also tweeted when Scott was rushed to the hospital. They also mentioned that this is the risk that the fighters take when they enter the ring at any level. After his death, they showed their grief in another tweet.
