BJP will soon announce the names of the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. One of the significant constituencies is Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. Congress Kamal Nath has won the election from Chhindwara several times. It is called the Fortress of Congress. This time, Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath will contest the Lok Sabha election from Chhindwara. BJP has yet to name a candidate from Chhindwara constituency. The prominent name that is coming out is Santosh Jain, a veteran member of the BJP.
Contested Election From Lok Sabha Constituency In 1999
BJP member Santosh Jain had contested elections from Chhindwara Lok Sabha constituency in 1999 against Kamal Nath. He is once again active in contesting the elections. Santosh Jain has met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state party president VD Sharma and other leaders for the ticket. He has also met Madhya Pradesh election in-charge Dr Mahendra Singh and co-in-charge Satish Upadhyay.
Santosh Jain is a senior and veteran leader of the party. According to him, in the 1999 elections, he had given tough competition to Congress leader Kamal Nath. This was the period when elections were conducted through ballot paper and not conducted through EVM. In the elections, Congress had rigged booth capturing and vote counting. Due to this, he had also staged a dharna at the counting venue. He said that if there had been no rigging, he would have become MP in 1999.
Santosh Jain Is A Prominent Leader Of BJP
Today, Santosh Jain is considered among the prominent leaders of the party. The party had also given him the status of Minister of State by making him the Vice Chairman of Textile Corporation, Mahakaushal Development Authority, and even Tourism Development Corporation in Madhya Pradesh. Santosh Jain is, without a doubt, a strong candidate from the Chhindwara constituency. He has expressed his desire that the party should give him one more chance to contest the election from Chhindwara. Hails from a small village, Lodhikheda, from Sausar Tehsill of Chhindwara district; Santosh Jain is also an active member of RSS.
BJP leader Santosh Jain’s father, Natthu Sao, was a freedom fighter. During his student life, Santosh Jain was the leader of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. After joining the Sangh, he has run many projects to serve Mother India. Due to this, the party made him the Lok Sabha candidate in the year 1999.
Why BJP May Give Santosh Jain Another Chance?
Santosh Jain is the only leader in the district who has worked with stalwarts and the pillars of BJP. Yes, you read it right. He has worked with former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Bharat Ratna Lal Krishna Advani, Rajmata Scindia, Pramod Mahajan, Sushma Swaraj, Nitin Gadkari, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, and also with current Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Santosh Jain has been a part of the party’s local and national movements. He has also served for national pride in the Ram Mandir movement and the Kashmir movement.
He fought for the rights of workers with the labor union in Sausar. During the Congress rule, he was even jailed in a fake case, but Santosh Jain stood firm. He was the district coordinator of Atal Se Sandesh Yatra. During this journey, he also toured the entire district. The party gave him responsibilities from block to district and state level, which he has fulfilled with dignity and honesty. Santosh Jain has strong leadership experience. He was in charge of Betul and Jabalpur districts in the Lok Sabha elections. The party has also sent him as an observer to many districts. Now, he is looking for another opportunity from the party. BJP leader has also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In BJP, the party contests elections and the candidate is selected as per the decision of the party. In Chhindwara, the BJP is waiting for a leader who can win the election.
