Currently, the XXII Commonwealth Games 2022 are taking place and are also called Birmingham 2022. India’s Mirabai Chanu has won numerous medals at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games. Mirabai also won the Padma Shri from the Indian government for her contributions. Mirabai Chanu won India’s first gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She was in the Women’s 49kg weightlifting category. Mirabai lifted 201kg to establish her dominance in the competition. She set a record at the Commonwealth Games in the process as well. Mirabai defeated Roilya Ranaivosoa of Mauritius, who ranked second. She lost to Mirabai by a massive margin of 29 KGs. The bronze medal went to Hannah Kaminski of Canada, who lifted a total of 171 KG.
Numerous well-known individuals from every corner of the country applauded Mirabai for her incredible win. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also praised her. He congratulated her and said Mirabai Chanu had once again made India proud. He added that everyone in India is pleased that she won a gold and set a Commonwealth record. She also inspired many Indians through her accomplishment, especially aspiring athletes.

The athlete is receiving love from the entire country. Chris Hemsworth, a well-known Hollywood actor, also appears to be a fan. The Avengers star complemented Mirabai. Mirabai Chanu thanked her followers on Twitter shortly after winning the gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She claimed that lifting 201 kg has never been easy. Mirabai thanked everyone for their support and well wishes. But, she continued, “every challenge is just an attempt away.”
