Corruption is the supreme foe of every country in the world. It is one of the biggest hurdles in the way of development. Moreover, there is no country that got a crystal clear record of honesty in its departments. To conclude, corruption is the prime subject of discussion in almost each country. It is hard to figure out which country is the most corrupt one. However, after a survey, Forbes disclosed the list of five most corrupt Asian countries on the bases of bribery rates. Now let us find out which country is in the top 5.
5. Myanmar – 40% bribery rate
According to people of Myanmar, the police of the country are 50% corrupt. However, some think that the entire police department is corrupt. Moreover, they think that 40% of the judiciary is corrupt.
4. Pakistan – 40% bribery rate
The bribery rate in Pakistan is 40%. Moreover, half of the people think that the police department is 100% corrupt. However, half of them said that there are some uncorrupt policemen. Furthermore, two third of the surveyed Pakistanis think, the corruption will not end, somehow one third think that this problem will be solved.
3. Thailand – 41% bribery rate
Thailand was placed at the third spot with a bribery rate of 41%. Undoubtedly, Thailand is struggling against the corruption. Pursuing this further, 72% have said that the government is progressing against corruption. Somehow, there are only 14% who think that the corruption has increased.
2. Vietnam – 65% bribery rate
According to forbs, Vietnam is the second corrupt Asian country. The bribery rate is 65% in Vietnam. Furthermore, there were utterly negative answers from the Vietnamese. All in all, 60% think that the efforts of the govt. are not enough to reduce the corruption.
1. India – 69% bribery rate
According to the survey, India is the most corrupt Asian country. In five of the six public services the Indians have to pay bribe. Although, there were mixed statements about the current government as 53% think that Modi Sarkar is doing good in this regard. However, 63% thinks that the ordinary people got the potential to bring the change.
