11. Mohammad Shami
Team India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan put the allegation of extramarital affairs and domestic violence against him. Mohammad Shami simply denied all the charges against him and the investigation is still on with Kolkata Police.
12. Asad Rauf
Asad Rauf is a Pakistani umpire. A 21-year-old Iranian model Leena Kapoor accused him of having an affair with her. She even gave a written complaint to the Mumbai police alleging that she was s*xually exploit by Asad Rauf on the pretext of marriage. She has also given some photographs to the police. Asad Rauf, an ICC elite panel umpire, said the model had taken pictures with him by posing as a fan. He also dismissed her claim that he had promised to marry her. But, it was too late for the umpire as their intimate pictures were already viral on the internet.
13. Andre Nel
Andre Nel is a South African fast bowler. In September 2010, Andre Nel was accused by his girlfriend Jelena Kultiasova. Andre and Jelena met each other in a night club, Movida, in London. Andre Nel never informed Jelena that he is married. Jelena was left heartbroken when she got to know that Nel was a married man. Later Andre Nel admitted his relationship with Jelena. After a month, two more women came forward and revealed that Nel has an extramarital affair with them too. Andre Nel was shocked and also tried to attempt suicide. However, later his wife confirmed that he is safe.
14. Sri Lankan Team
It is one of the biggest scandals in cricketing history. The whole Sri Lankan team was involved in this scandal. The entire cricket world was shocked when a Wisden Almanack report claimed that Sri Lankan Police had raided the Temple Road-based brothel in Mount Lavinia. The brothel claimed that it served professional cricketers for the past 10 years. The police squad arrested eight young girls in their early 20s and their 78-year-old head.
15. West Indies Team
In 2005, VB Series was organized in Australia, West Indies lost 5 back to back matches out of six matches. The sponsors Digicel was so shocked and agitated that they claimed that the players had more phone numbers of the women than their runs. Digicel Representative Richard Nowell himself confirmed that on the eve of West Indies matches in Brisbane, he had heard numerous doors banging and many female voices before the match.
The players should understand and respect the seriousness of the game. They must behave responsibly and must not take advantage of their name and fame. It destroys the spirit of the game as well as their careers.
