While we are quick to throw away food as soon as it has passed its sell-by date, many of us are completely unaware that plenty of the household items we use every day have expiry dates too. Check out the list we have put together!
1. Tupperware – Every 3 Months
The plastic boxes you store lunch and leftover dinners in is a prime spot for the harboring of nasty chemicals like BPA, BPS and Phthalates. You may have Tupperware in your cupboard from years ago and eat out of it every single day but did you know you should replace it every 3 months?
2. Slippers – Every 6 Months
Your comfy footwear is the perfect environment for spreading fungal infection. In order to avoid the spread of infection slippers should be washed properly and as often as possible. In addition you should look to replace them every six months to keep feet hygienic.
3. Pillows – Every 2 Years
You sleep with your pillow every night. You pull it, punch it, and roll it until you are comfortable. This natural wear and tear can cause the pillow to lose its shape and leads to neck pain from lack of support. It also becomes a home for dust mites.
4. Towel – Every 1 Year
These damp towels are an optimal environment for bacteria growth. Routinely washing towels after they fermented in their wet state won’t solve the problem. You must change your towels every 1 year for a better hygiene and healthy lifestyle.
