Human history is full of violence and brutal incidents. Some incidents in history were so deadly that they became the reason for mass destruction. Countless people lost their lives and went homeless. These Incidents later became lessons for the entire world we should learn from our mistakes and avoid such incidents in future.
Most of these remorseless incidents are the result of the political desires which made people blinded.
1. World War 2 (Estimate Death: 72 Million)
World war 2 is one of the darkest chapters of human history. Estimate casualties in this rampage are around 72 million. Though the Allies won the war they paid a heavy price for this, 85% of casualties were on their part. China and the Soviet Union spared most of them.
2. European Colonization of the Americas ( Estimate Death: 100 Million)
European colonization became a major reason for native American deaths. As Europe found a new colony in the 15th century they began the plight of native American which caused the result of 100 million death. This is the largest tragedy in entire human history.
3. World War 1 (Estimate Death: 65 Million)
Within the short period of 4 years between 1914 to 1918 around more than 65 million people died because of world war 1.
4. Mongol Conquests (Estimate Death: 60 Million)
Genghis Khan was one of the most fierce and ruthless warrior World has ever seen, covering almost 16% of total land. During his conquests almost 60 million people died.
5. Soviet Crimes (Estimate Death: 49 Million)
From 1917 to 1953 due to the Soviet Union, millions of Russians lost their lives. Most were the victim of revolution, Famine, and civil war.
6. Great Chinese Famine (Estimate Death: 43 Million)
China had a violent history in past almost 43 million died in the Great Chinese Famine famously known as ‘the great leap forward’.
7. Taiping Rebellion (Estimate Death: 40 Million)
Taiping Rebellion was the massive movement of China during 1850 to 1864 and was fought between Qing Dynasty and Christians. In this violent movement, around 40 million people lost their lives.
8. A Lushan Rebellion (Estimate Death: 36 Million)
An Lushan Rebellion is the famous war between two giant dynasties of China. Yang Dynasty and Tang Dynasty. it lasted 755 to 763 and became the reason for several deaths, almost 36 million.
9. Late Yuan Warfare And Transition to Ming Dynasty (Estimate Death: 30 Million)
Kublai Khan was as brutal as his great-grandfather Genghis Khan. While he was on the rampage he became the reason for 30 million death.
10. Atlantic Slave Trade (Estimate Death: 15 Million)
The Bloody slave trade is also known as Atlantic slave trade started back in the 16th century and finally came to end in the 19th century. This deadly tradition killed almost 15 million people.
As a human society, we didn’t behave as civilized as we should have. Wealth and power can drive anyone insane and this became the reason for several mass destruction incidents in our history which made earth red with the human blood.
