At a campaign rally on July 13, Donald Trump got shot in the ear in what seemed to be an attempt on his life by a shooter. The event was chaotic and upsetting. It will further heighten concerns about instability leading up to the 2024 US presidential election. With blood all over his face, the 78-year-old former president was hurried from the platform following the shooting in Butler, Pennsylvania, which left two bystanders seriously injured.
Attacker Was Shot Dead
The gunman, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, has been identified by the FBI. After the assault, an AR-style weapon was found by the security personnel. Moreover, the attacker was shot and killed by Secret Service officers. The assailant, according to reports, was positioned on the top of a manufacturing facility over 130 yards from the Butler Farm Show grounds stage where Donald Trump was giving a speech to the public.
Donald Trump Expressed Condolences
As he was carried away to safety, the Republican candidate held out a furious fist to the assembled people. “I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear,” he declared in the aftermath.
He also added, “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heaing through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening.”
The former US President thanked law police for their reaction and also offered his sympathies to the family of the deceased protester. “I want to thank the United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response to the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania.”

US President Joe Biden expressed his disapproval of the terrifying event. Further he stated, “We cannot be like this, we cannot condone this.” Biden called the incident “sick,” adding that ” everybody must condemn it.” After the event, Donald Trump had a conversation with the US President and the Democratic Party candidate. He returned to the White House later.
