In a bizarre turn of events, SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk has deleted the Facebook pages of both SpaceX and Tesla after a dare he had received on Twitter. Both the pages have been brought down and are currently inactive.

As part of his daily routine, Musk was answering his tweets on Friday morning when he received one peculiar tweet from Brian Acton, Co-founder of WhatsApp. The tweet from Acton contained the hashtag #deletefacebook, to which Musk replied by stating “What’s Facebook?”

In the midst of all this, another Twitter user commented by stating that Musk should delete the company Facebook page. Elon Musk responded by saying that he had no Idea that there was a Facebook page of Tesla or SpaceX and he would duly bring them down.

After the Tesla page was brought down, someone even showed Musk a screenshot of the SpaceX page to which he replied by saying that the page looked lame anyway. The SpaceX page vanished afterward. The Facebook Page of Tesla owned Solar City has vanished as well.

Facebook has endured somewhat of a difficult week as it was embroiled in a controversy surrounding the apparent user data theft by Cambridge Analytica. Over 50 million user’s data were stolen and people have continued to show backlash to the entire issue. The Musk issue just adds more fuel to Facebook’s already raging fire.
Despite Mr. Musk pulling down the Facebook pages of the two super companies, the Instagram handles remain intact. Let’s see how long those last as well. What will happen next?
