Endangered Species Which Require Our Attention Before Its Too Late

Animals and birds all around the world are in a real threat due to climate change and various other factors. Recently, World Wildlife Day was observed on 3rd March with this year’s theme as “The future of wildlife is in our hands.” We have to understand the need of the hour and take appropriate steps to protect the endangered species that are on the verge of extinction.

So, here is the list of seven animal species that according to the ‘World Wildlife Fund’ list as endangered.

 

1. Bengal Tiger

The population of Bengal tigers is decreasing rapidly. At present, around 2500 of these tigers are left in the wild. They are found in the mangroves shared by India and Bangladesh, the Sundarbans. The reason for their declining population is the climate change that’s affecting a sea level rise. Also, Government has launched many schemes for the protection of these tigers.

 

2. Giant Panda

The very cute Giant Pandas’ existence is also in danger due to the climate change. They are mainly found in the bamboo forests in western China. Pandas are known to directly help towards wildlife maintenance. They spread seeds and help in vegetation growth. WWF and Kung Fu 3 have partnered together to raise awareness for their protection.

 

3. Blue Whale

The largest animal on the planet, the blue whale, is in danger. Its existence is threatened by the climate change. They will be very badly affected if we don’t take immediate actions to protect them. They are also known as the loudest animal.

 

4. Indian Elephant

Indian Elephants are in danger due to their trading. They are sold in elephant trade for ivory and also often slaughtered for their tusks. They are being picked from the depths of the wilderness. Although African Elephants are mainly involved in the most illegal ivory trade and have Asian Elephants also fall prey to the danger of this trade.

 

5. Polar Bear

As we all know, ice in the north pole is melting due to the climate change. And the most affected because of this will be the Polar bear. Many actions are been taken to reduce the greenhouse emissions to control global warming and preserve their species. This immediate action was taken by the US Government.

 

6. Snow Leopard

The population of snow leopards is also in a fear of extinction and in the list of endangered species. They are spread in across 12 countries including Nepal, China, and India. Their extinction is near, if climate change in the mountainous regions they dwell, it is not reduced.

 

7. Olive Ridley Turtle

Olive Ridley turtles live in close nests. Also, any disturbance to their habitat can create a scary domino effect for the entire wildlife. There were a number of cases in India itself where the turtles in large numbers washed ashore due to waves. These are also added to the list of endangered species and are in alarming danger.

So, this is the list of the 7 endangered species which need our attention immediately. Their existence is in danger because of climate change and we need to protect them from becoming extinct.
