This cocktail was made by London bartender Salvatore Calabrese and was once the most expensive cocktail ever. It’s made with 1770 Kummel Liqueur,1788 Clos de Griffier Vieux Cognac, 1860 Dubb Orange Curacao and early 20th century Angostura Bitters..sounds really old and expensive, right?
The cocktail earned a Guinness World Record. Currently, it stands at No. 7.
2. Sapphire Martini – ₹2,02,176
The cocktail is served at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. It started with a price of $24 i.e Rs 1627 but with the increase in popularity got a price hike and eventually went on to become as costly as $3000. It’s described as a classic martini made with Bombay Sapphire gin, dry vermouth, and orange liqueur. The glass is rimmed with blue sugar, but the reason it’s so expensive is that it comes with a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings on the side. The drink will cost only cost you some $20 without a pair of sapphire earrings and diamond.
3. The Diamond Cocktail – ₹67,392
It’s served in London’s 5-star Sheraton Park Hotel. This is made with a blend of individual cognacs each of which cost at least $1000 per bottle and Charles Heidsieck Vintage 2001 Champagne. The reason it’s one of the most Expensive drinks is -yes, you are correct! it has a real diamond floating in it. Once you order the drink, you can choose your stone — and even swap it out for a ruby, if you prefer.
4. The Ono Cocktail – ₹6,73,922
This is yet another drink which costs high due to the jewelry twist added to it. The cocktail is served at the Wynn’s XS Nightclub. This drink is made with Rémy Martin Louis XVIII Black Pearl and Charles Heidsieck Champagne plus fresh orange juice, apricot juice, and rose nectar. It also comes with a set of cufflinks and a gold, diamond, and pearl necklace brought to you by 20 servers and a whole lot of fanfare.
5. The Winston – ₹1,05,80,575
On February 7, 2013, Joel Heffernan of Club 23 set a new Guinness World Record for the most expensive cocktail with his Winston, named, of course, for Winston Churchill. It’s made with Grand Marnier Quintessence, Chartreuse Vieillissement Exceptionnellement Prolonge a.k.a Chartreuse V.E.P, a dash of Angostura Bitters and some chocolate nutmeg dust. The cost comes from the addition of two nips of 1858 Croizet cognac. And, It takes two days to make The Winston!
6. Martini On The Rock – ₹6,73,922
The cocktail is served at The Blue Bar in New York. It is popularly known as the proposal martini. You can consult with a jeweller 72 hours earlier and he drops the ring of your choice in the drink so you can propose in style. Very expensive proposal with a very Expensive drink indeed.
