Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev brought the painting from Yves Bouvier. Dmitry later reported that he was charged double the actual amount of the painting.

Translating to “water serpents,” the painting was painted by an Austrian painter. The painting features some gold leaf elements. This painting was also sold to Dmitry Rybolovlev.

The portrait of the couple Soolmans and Coppit was painted in 1634 during their marriage. These paintings were some of his first full-length portraiture works. The p[ainting is currently hung at the Rijks museum. It used to belong to the Royal Family. These paintings have always been displayed together and have never been separated.
