9. Creative Team Was Weirded Out By The Idea
When Eisner proposed the idea of creating a cartoon show based on candy, the creative team was perplexed. Jymn Magon said that “We went into a coffee shop and kinda looked at each other and scratched our heads and said, ‘He’s crazy,'” Magon told the Great Big Beautiful Podcast in 2016. “Well, I mean, you know, it’s like, here’s your main character, and we eat him every week, you know. That’s stupid! Do you know? … So I went back to producing records, and I get a call on the phone, and it’s the president of the company: ‘Hey Jymn, it’s Michael.’ ‘Oh, hi.’ ‘Where’s my show?’ I thought, Great, you know, and I instantly start typing some of the worst ideas on the planet. We had a bad guy named Licorice Whip. We had a villainous, traitor gummy called Scummi Gummi. Oh, it was horrible.”
10. Seven Gummi Bears
There were seven gummi bears shown in the cartoon. Zummi Gummi, Gruffi Gummi, Grammi Gummi, Tummi Gummi, Sunni Gummi, Cubbi Gummi, and Augustus Gusto Gummi. Gusto Gummi was introduced in season 2 when Tummi and Gruffi were shipwrecked on an island.
11. Main Villian In Gummi Bears
Duke Sigmund Igthorn, the king of the castle Drekmore is the main villain of this cartoon series. He has an army of ogres and always hunts for Gummi Bears for their Gummiberry juice and their secrets.
Gummi Bears proved to be one of the most successful shows in the United States; it is a unique show that children may like today.
