In 2013, Chhetri joined Bengaluru FC after his departure from the Portuguese Club. This was his first I-league. During this time he made 14 goals and 7 assists in 23 matches.
7. The World Cup Qualifier match
He became the first Indian footballer to reach 50 international goals in 2015. He achieved this in the World Cup Qualifier match against Guam.
8. Ranked FIFA Top 100
In 2017, Chhetri made history by scoring a goal in the 69th minute against Kyrgyzstan. He not only ranked FIFA Top 100 but also qualified for the 2019 Asia Cup.
9. The Intercontinental Cup 2018
In the year 2018, during the Intercontinental Cup, he became the third most active international goal scorer in the world with David Villa.
10. His 100th International Match
On June 4, skipper Sunil Chhetri played his 100th international match. This match they played against Kenya. He also scored two goals in this match. He is the second Indian footballer to play in the 100th international match.
