Love has no boundaries. This was very well proved when Dustin and Florida teen Sierra decided to tie the knot and fulfill Dustin’s dying wish despite all the problems. A very heartbreaking real-life story of the cancer victim Dustin, who is just 19 years old! The couple has been dating since mid school days.
19-year-old Dustin Snyder is battling a rare form of cancer: synovial sarcoma. Doctors tell him there’s no treatment, and he doesn’t have much time left. He’s done as much as he could since he got the news. But he has one thing left on his list — to marry his high school sweetheart, Sierra Siverio.
“Sierra means the world to me. Everything,” Snyder said. “Can’t even describe it in words.”
His mother, Cassandra Fondahn said, it’s been a whirlwind the last few days as they decided they have to give Snyder his wish sooner than later. At 18, Snyder was diagnosed with synovial sarcoma, a rare form of cancer — after months of chemotherapy, the cancer was gone. Fondahn tells us just three weeks ago, Snyder was rushed to the hospital with abdominal cramps where they found out cancer came back. Snyder is now in hospice as he knows his days are becoming numbered.
Snyder has been battling cancer off and on for a year and a half, and Siverio has been by his side through it all. “She was there with me since the beginning, and I couldn’t imagine being with anyone else,” he said.
Dustin and Siverio’s love story started in sixth grade. “Definitely my first love,” Siverio said. “For sure.”
They dated but lost touch after middle school. The couple reunited as high school seniors, and on Thursday they saw their wedding venue for the first time. The Valrico teen’s older sister who lives in Jacksonville created a GoFundMe account to get donations for the wedding. The community has now come together buying a wedding dress, a tux for Snyder and rings.
Life-path Hospice is also donating the flowers and bridesmaid dresses for the wedding. Fondahn tells us they are still finishing up the rest of the planning for the wedding on Sunday. They will tie the knot at the Big Red Barn on Sunday.
We wish them a happy wedding although it’s sad to see Dustin battling like this with life. These kind of people are the ones who teach us what serious relationships are and what forever means! Apart from Dustin’s battle, we would wish that all goes well for the couple. Cancer keeps killing people. Read more about Cancer causing products we use every day.
