Goa-based regional airline FLY91 achieves a major breakthrough. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Ministry of Civil Aviation greenlit the Air Operator Certificate (AOC). Manoj Chacko, the MD, and CEO, extends gratitude for their steadfast support during the certification journey.

 

Aircraft Acquisition And Strategic Focus

FLY91’s fleet took off by introducing its first aircraft, an ATR 72-600 leased from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise. It is positioned at Goa’s Manohar International Airport in Mopa. The airline sets its sights on linking tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India, with plans to expand its fleet with 30 additional aircraft within five years.

FLY91 strategically aligns with the government’s Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) UDAN. It secures routes that connect cities like Sindhudurg, Jalgaon, Nanded, and Lakshadweep. These routes reach major destinations such as Bengaluru, Goa, Hyderabad, and Pune, underlining the airline’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity.

FLY91’s vision extends beyond immediate operations. The airline aims to become a key player in connecting over 50 cities within the next five years, necessitating the establishment of hubs nationwide.
