Delhi, the capital of India, is set to host one of the biggest events in the world. The G20 Summit will be held from September 9 to September 10, 2023. Heads of State and dignitaries from 20 leading economies of the globe would start arriving in the national capital a day prior. This would lead to the promotion of authorities to impose various restrictions. Continue reading to know more about the advisory released by Delhi Traffic Police.

 

What’s Open During The G20 Summit?

Here’s a list of services available during the summit.

1. Essential services such as hospitals, pharmacies, and emergency services will remain open. However, the traffic police will set up a dedicated ambulance assistance control room from midnight September 7 to 11:59 p.m. on September 11.

2. Public transportation, including buses and metro services, will continue operational. But, three-seater rickshaws and taxis will not be allowed in Delhi. Moreover, taxis carrying tourists would only be allowed to enter the Delhi district if they show valid hotel bookings. General traffic, including commercial vehicles and Buses present in the State, would operate from Ring Road and the road network towards the border of Delhi. They would be allowed to exit from Delhi.

3. Restaurants and eateries will remain open but may have limited seating capacity.

4. Markets and malls are expected to remain open with certain restrictions.

5. Vehicles carrying essential goods such as milk, vegetables, fruits, and medical supplies would be allowed to enter Delhi.

 

What’s Closed During The G20 Summit?

Here’s a list of services not available during the G20 summit.

1. Central government offices, banks, and educational institutions will be closed during the G20 summit.

2. Some roads and areas near the summit venue may remain closed or have restrictions. Traffic police have requested t commuters to avoid traveling to places falling in regulated and controlled zones. If unavoidable, there are following alternative routes.

North-South Corridor: Ring Road-Ashram Chowk-Sarai Kale Khan-Delhi-Meerut Expressway -Noida Link Road-Pusta Road-Yudhishthir Setu-ISBT Kashmere Gate-Ring Road-Majnu Ka Tila. Then, from AIIMS Chowk-Ring Road-Dhaula Kuan-Ring Road-Brar Square-Naraina Flyover-Rajouri Garden Junction-Ring Road-Punjabi Bagh Junction-Ring Road-Azad Pur Chowk.

East-West Corridor: From Sun Dial/DND Flyover-Ring Road-Ashram Chowk-Moolchand Underpass-AIIMS Chowk-Ring Road-Dhaula Kuan-Ring Road-Brar Square-Naraina Flyover. Then, from Yudhishthir Setu-Ring Road-Chandgi Ram Akhara-Mall Road-Azad Pur Chowk-Ring Road-Lala Jagat Narayan Marg.

3. Metro service would be available to passengers, but boarding and de-boarding at the Supreme Court Metro Station will not be permitted.

Movement of passengers to the Airport and Old and New Delhi Railways Station is allowed but with adequate identity proof.
