On May 29, the official roster for Season 10 of Love Island was revealed, consisting of ten original contestants who will enter the villa and compete. George Fensom is a newcomer to the show. Despite his small social media presence, people are unaware of much information about him. However, soon before his appearance on reality television, a TikTok video featuring his ex-girlfriend surfaced, revealing serious allegations against him.
Who Is George Fensom?
George Fensom is a 24-year-old business development executive from Bedford. While his Instagram account does not reveal much information about his personal life, his LinkedIn site does. He is currently employed as a business development executive at The British Standards Institution (BSI). He previously worked as a property paralegal at Premier Solicitors and as a sales negotiator at Goodacres Residential.
According to George’s Love Island profile on ITV, he defines himself as “always dancing” and even performs his distinctive routine, the “Dad dance.” He also claims to have a collection of humorous dad jokes to share with his fellow islanders.
George Fensom Controversy
George Fensom got caught in controversy before the premiere of Love Island Season 10. A TikTok post by his ex-girlfriend, Ebony Skeeley, was alleged to have reappeared online, in which she criticized George and labeled him a “cheat” and a “narcissist.”
Along with this message, some Twitter users uploaded screenshots of George allegedly using homophobic words.
George Fensom’s Response
George Fensom addressed the controversial tweets in an interview with MailOnline, expressing regret and stressing that they do not reflect the person he is today.
He admitted that, in retrospect, he realizes how foolish and young he was to think those statements were acceptable. Nevertheless, George recognized that his previous comments were inappropriate and expressed regret for them.
After Ebony’s post went viral, people quickly shared their feelings in the video’s comments area. The majority of people appeared to accept Ebony’s allegations and were angry at Love Island for casting George. However, a fan sympathized with Ebony and expressed hope that Love Island would take notice of the situation and become aware of George’s actual character, and wrote, “Sorry you had to go through this. I hope @LoveIsland sees this so they know what type of person he really is.”
Another said, “Love Island needs to do their research before they scout people. I’m so sorry this happened to you!”
