Zomato founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal once narrated his success story with his second wife, Gia Goyal, aka Grecia Munoz, in a conversation with Kapil Sharma on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. Deepinder Goyal also shared a candid conversation with the audience on how destiny and a friend’s timely intervention helped them come together.

After moving to India, Gia Goyal supported Deepinder Goyal and has been involved in Zomato’s operations. It is also clearly reflected by their humble nature when the two engaged in a street test where they delivered food as Zomato delivery agents. Deepinder also said that he revealed some flirty aspects of their relationship because some of Zomato’s mobile app pop-ups are borrowed from the romantic messages Gia Goyal receives from him. “At times non-jokes are my love messages to Gia, but our marketing department has a way with words,” he said jokingly.
Gia, a former Mexican model, moved to India after marrying Deepinder Goyal earlier this year. Their partnership opens a new chapter in Deepinder’s life.

Deepinder’s first wife was Kanchan Joshi. They first established a relationship with Gia Goyal through a friend. Looking back at the time when they met, he said, ‘I was single for the longest time. My friends often set me up on dates but advised me not to settle down. One day, when Grecia came to Delhi, a friend called and said, ‘There’s someone you should meet. You’ll end up marrying her.’ Deepinder said Yes to meeting Gia out of curiosity, and the two hit it off instantly.
Deepinder Goyal’s Rise To Success
Deepinder Goyal was born in the small town of Muktsar, Punjab, India. His journey is quite inspirational. After completing his pre-university education in Chandigarh, he graduated from IIT Delhi, where he met his first wife, Kanchan Joshi. It was during their time in the Mathematics and Computing department.
Deepinder started with Bain & Company in 2005, but not long before he entered his own business. In 2008, he co-founded Foodiebay.com, which was renamed Zomato, a food delivery company and restaurant aggregator across the globe. Born in 1984, Deepinder is today one of the most well-known members of the Indian startup scene, based in Gurgaon and overseeing the further expansion of Zomato.
