The Google Pixel 8 series is expected to be unveiled at the company’s Made by Google event on October 4. Some leaks about the next-generation Pixel phones are appearing online. The Features
There are indications that the Pixel 8 Series might have only an eSIM version. However, new sneak peeks suggest the device would have physical SIM card slots on the handset. It is speculated that the Pixel 8 models will ditch the physical SIM, at least in selected regions.
Further, it is also expected to have a Night Sight video feature. This would improve the quality of videos captured in low light. This function can be further enhanced by the faster image signal processor (ISP) and AI capabilities of the Tensor G3 SoC.
Moreover, the smartphone series is tipped to run on Android 14. The Pixel 8 Pro is expected to pack a 4,950mAh battery with 27W wired fast charging support. On the other hand, The Pixel 8 could be filled with a 4,485mAh battery with 24W wired charging and 12W wireless charging.
Price Point For Google Pixel 8 Series
The device would be priced at EUR 874.25 (Rs 78,400/- approx.) for the 128 GB storage variant. The 256 GB variant would be priced at EUR 949.30 (Rs 85,200/- approx.). It is said to have four color options for the users to choose from. Namely hazel, mint, obsidian, and rose.
On the other hand, the Pixel 8 Pro is priced slightly higher. The 128 GB variant is said to be priced at EUR 1,309.95 (Rs 1,17,500/- approx.), while the 256 GB variant would cost EUR 1,461.24 (Rs 1,31,100/- approx.). The model would also have four color options—namely mint, obsidian, bay, and porcelain. The above prices include 23% VAT (Value added tax).
Excluding VAT, the Pixel 8 could cost EUR 710.77 (Rs 63,000 approx.) for the 128 GB variant and EUR 771.79 (Rs 69,000 approx.). The Pro model could be priced at EUR 1,004.65 (Rs 90,000 approx.) and EUR 1,065 (Rs 1,06,600 approx.) in the 128 and 256 GB storage models, respectively.
