Sweihan, a small town is situated in the east of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, reached the hottest day in June this year. It recorded a temperature of 51.8°C. The Middle East is one of the hottest regions in the world. It is also added to the list of 51°C clubs like Iran and Kuwait.
8. Ahvaz, Iran
The southern Iranian city of Ahaz recorded the hottest temperature of 53°C in the year 2017. According to scientists, heat waves are attributed to climate change. Ahvaz is also ranked in the world’s most air-polluted cities in the world. In the industrial city of Ahvaz, the average temperature recorded in the warmest month of July is 46°C.
9. Portland, USA
The Portland had hit the hottest temperature of 42.2°C. It is the highest in its history the earlier record happened in the year 1965 and 1981. The surrounding cities and towns were also reached ever met record break temperatures this year. Places that cover from eastern Washington to Portland to southern Oregon reached 30°C, which is higher than normal.
10. Athens, Greece
