Ordering food online sometimes can backfire. One such incident happened with a man from Hyderabad when he ordered from the food delivery app Swiggy. He posted on Reddit to share his experience. A Redditor ordered two pizzas from a gourmet restaurant and got a surprise. The food he ordered, actually came from a small shop.

When the customer placed the order on Swiggy, he noticed the restaurant was just 1 km away. Feeling something fishy, the guy contacted Swiggy’s customer care. The customer care executive said that a new outlet had opened in the area. But the customer was not convinced. He decided to investigate the matter by himself. He went to the location of the restaurant. But to his surprise, he found that a small shop was running under 14 different restaurant names.

In his post, he also shared photos of the place and a conversation with a Swiggy customer executive. He  revealed,

“I called the Swiggy customer care again, and they were like we are sorry we will cancel the order and refund the amount. So we took some pictures and left. Swiggy, being Swiggy, didn’t cancel the order but delivered it. I made a complaint on Swiggy chat, and immediately, I was refunded the entire amount without any questions.

And after about 10 minutes we had a call from the manager of “Olio” asking about the taste of pizzas (which is worst, by the way) and when confronted, tried to explain that he has taken dealership from all the restaurants.”

The post received over 800 upvotes. One user wrote, ‘Cloud kitchens 🤷🏾‍♀️ they don’t have proper licenses, let alone sanitation and safety accreditations from requisite authorities. I’m happy to see you got your refund without much chik chik.’ Another user commented, ‘Actually, Olio Pizza is registered with Curefoods now. I checked the FSSAI license too. Looks legit since all the brands listed up there are owned by Curefoods. It’s a cloud kitchen so I expect it to be a dirty and unhygienic place since MOST of the cloud kitchens operate similar fashion.’
