The Hyundai Creta Electric is here, and the world is ready for the electric revolution. This automobile model is gradually becoming popular to provide consumers with electric cars and compete with existing providers. Despite being nearly identical to the standard Creta, the Creta Electric has a few new and exclusive features in EVs. This time, it is still the same fashionable SUV but with a more environmentally friendly standpoint.
This is because Hyundai India has recently disclosed the brand-new innovative car Creta Electric SUV before it was released for sale on 17th January at the BGB Mobility Global Expo 2025. This new electric model replicates the essence of the best-selling Creta ICE SUV but gives it a brand-new, environmentally friendly touch. This makes it even more interesting that it will be their cheapest electric vehicle in India.
Before the Ioniq 5, Hyundai had the Kona Electric, a significantly cheaper option than the new model. Nevertheless, the discontinuation of the Kona left Hyundai without an electric car for some time. Creta Electric is expected to combine these features and provide an affordable price range to capture as much market share as possible in the growing field of electric vehicles and solidify Hyundai’s position there. With competitors such as the Tata Curvv EV and the Mahindra BE 6e, there is no doubt that the Creta Electric will create quite the buzz in the market!
Hyundai Creta Electric: Design
Hyundai Creta Electric has design changes that make it unique from the regular ICE Hyundai Creta. At the front, it replaces the conventional grille with a pixelated arrangement for the car’s charging flap at the Hyundai emblem. The bumper has also been restyled and comes with an active air flap that has the added function of cooling the battery and enhancing the car’s shape for better efficiency. LED DRLs and headlights in the inverted L-shape inherited from the regular Creta also contribute to its recognizable look.
From the side, the Creta Electric looks as minimalist as any standard Creta, sharing the window lines and the silver trim under the doors. The roof and pillars have been painted black, and the outside rearview mirrors (OVRMs) are equally black to give that bold look. For the final touch of the luxury exterior overhaul, this SUV comes with newly developed 17-inch alloy rims that boast an aerodynamic design for better efficiency.
Hyundai Creta Electric: Features
The interior of the Hyundai Creta Electric is as modern as it gets, borrowing many design cues from the sleek and sci-fi-like Ioniq 5. This car has no mechanical analog dials on the instrument cluster. Instead, it is all digital, with a revived new touchscreen infotainment system. Music lovers will also love the improved sound system; to complete it, there is a new three-spoke steering wheel.
There is no holding back regarding technology and safety at Hyundai Creta Electric. It has all the trappings of a modern car, including a digital key, Level 2 ADAS, TPMS, and a 360-degree camera. All these cool features are intended to make your ride as safe as possible and simultaneously as comfortable as possible. The car will come in four variants: The four models of the car include Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence which makes it easier for consumers to choose from.
Now, let’s talk about the charging. One would expect the Creta Electric to be pretty quick on that front, too. On the other hand, DC fast charging enables you to charge it from 10-80% in 58 minutes only. If one uses an 11 kW AC charger, the time taken to charge a Tesla from 10% is approximately 4 hours. Thus, with such a system, you could be on the road longer, saving time waiting.
Hyundai Creta Electric Expected Price
The highly anticipated Hyundai Creta Electric model should cost around ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom), making it quite promising for people willing to go electric. At this price point, it extends affordable EVs to all classes while providing buyers with a slick, well-equipped car for their money. The Creta Electric could be a logical combination of usefulness, modernity, and affordability—especially for those who want to go green but do not wish to blow their budget or wait for quite some time.
