How Police Use It To Check Stealing Of Phones?
By immediately registering “data of all stolen phones and uploading it on our servers and the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS),” the plan of reducing theft might work. Said a senior Delhi police officer in an interview with The Indian Express. To block their stolen phones, police are also helping the victims in one more way. They urge victims to register on the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR).
The senior Delhi police officer also shared, “In a testing period of one month, we were able to block more than 950 IMEI numbers/phones.”
