As for regional preferences, Delhi’s love for Gol Gappe (a type of snack) surpassed Mumbai’s preference for Pani Puris by 25 times.

In addition to the food insights, Zomato launched personalized features such as Roast Mode for those who enjoy some sharp humor and Sweet Mode for those looking for wholesome vibes, offering users a fun and engaging way to reflect on their dining experiences.

This year-end wraps from Zomato and Blinkit reveal the growing trend of personalized consumer experiences. Both platforms used data to offer personalized insights into their users’ preferences. While food choices such as biryani and pizza reflect traditional tastes, the quirky and sometimes excessive orders, like the 120 Manchurian combos or 1,203 bottles of Sprite, point to a changing and more fun-loving consumer attitude.

The rise of quick commerce is also clear, with Blinkit’s rapid deliveries making shopping more accessible, even for large quantities of products. The strong performance of Maggi and beverages highlights a preference for comfort foods and popular drinks.

The Changing Landscape Of Retail And Food Ordering In India

2024 has shown that convenience and personalization are becoming integral parts of Indian consumer culture. Both Zomato and Blinkit are actively tapping into these dynamics, adapting their offerings to match the evolving needs and whims of consumers.

As we head into 2025, it will be interesting to see how these trends evolve, especially as brands continue to leverage data to offer more tailored experiences for users.
