Yes, you will see the World’s tallest hindu temple in India. And can you imagine where it will be? It’s Vrindavan, in Uttar Pradesh that will be home to this world’s tallest temple.
The Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir which is currently under construction at Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh region, will stand at 700 feet (210 metres) tall, will have 70 floors and is to be constructed by using earthquake resistant building material.
It is the work of Indian architecture firm InGenious Studio and engineering consultants Thornton Tomasetti.
The temple is dedicated to Hindu deity Lord Sri Krishna. And this striking structure has been designed to blend traditional Indian ‘Nagra’ temple architecture with modern aesthetics.
The project is said to cost around $45 million and ISKCON is hoping to complete the work by 2022. In 2014, work first began on the building, which also includes a 1,000-seat auditorium, Center for Krishna Heritage Studies and a food court.
When finished, the entire site will cover 62 acres of land. The temple will also be involved in a number of social programs including a free lunch initiative for economically challenged children in the surrounding area.
This tallest hindu temple is surrounded by about 30 acres of wooded area that constitute recreated forests of Braj. The original source books like Srimad Bhagavatam and other ancient texts describe twelve verdant forests (dvadashakanana) that were present during the time of Lord Sri Krishna.
To facilitate the visitors to stay for a few days and to experience Krishna consciousness in all of its facets like Deities, bhajans, kirtans, pravachans, spiritual enlightenment and reflection, festivals, feasts and ‘Goshala’ for demonstrating cow protection, varieties of housing and accommodation are also included as part of the project .
According to ISKCON, It was the desire of SrilaPrabhupada, Founder Acharya of ISKCON to build World’s tallest temple for Lord Krishna at Mathura.
