There are a few celebs who have defeated cancer. Let us take a look at some of these celebs.
1. Lisa Ray
Multiple Myeloma was detected om Lisa Ray’s blood back in 2009. She refused to give up. In an interview, she said, “Cancer has changed my life in many ways, I received support and love from others. I was quite nervous before disclosing the news of my cancer. Everyone supported and it was cured in 2010.” She started a campaign named “Living with cancer” the campaign helps cancer patients.
2. Anurag Basu
The popular film director, Anurag Basu is also in the list of cancer survivors. Back in 2004, he was diagnosed with blood cancer and the doctors stated that he had only two months to live. It scared him a bit but he knew he needed to be mentally tough. He battled this out and won against cancer. In an interview, he said, “My family and friends knew that I had cancer. When I was sick everyone came to me with a sad face, no one dared to tell me that I had cancer. One day Mahesh Bhatt came to meet me and he told me that I had cancer. I told him that it is just like another disease, I would battle against it. Doctors stated that I had only 3-4 months left but it is my will to fight that led me to the cure.”
3. Yuvraj Singh
After the 2011 Cricket World Cup, Yuvraj Singh witnessed some health issues. After the checkup, it was found that he was suffering from lung cancer. It was in the first stage. He went to America for treatment and after a long battle, he defeated cancer. Moreover, he made his comeback in the national team. In an interview, he said, “Cancer does not mean death. We should not be afraid of it. We should go for the treatment as soon as it is detected.”
4. Manisha Koirala
Back in 2012, Manisha Koirala was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. After that, she went to America for the treatment. She stayed there for six months. After a long battle of 3 years, she defeated cancer in 2015. Moreover, she made her Bollywood comeback in 2017. Recently, she played the role of Nargis Dutt in the movie Sanju.
