Women have excelled in all the fields, barring all the hurdles. They have made exceptional achievements that make our country proud. Here is the list of Inspiring Young Indian Women who do not fail to inspire us:

 

1. Dipa Karmakar

Dipa Karmakar, then 24 years old, became the first Indian female gymnast to earn a bronze medal at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She represented India in several other tournaments, bringing glory to our country and serving as an inspiration to young women who want to participate in sports. Dipa has also received the Padma Shri award. She was also given the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award in 2016 for her outstanding performance at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

 

2. Hima Das

Hima Das became the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal at the IAAF World U20 Championships despite a lack of funding. She became a role model for many female athletes and an inspiration for millions of Indians due to her efforts. She currently holds the national record in the 400 meters, clocking 50.79 seconds at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. As part of the state’s integrated Sport Policy,’ she was also recently named a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Assam Police.

 

3. Arunima Sinha

Arunima Sinha is a former volleyball player and mountain climber. She is also the first female amputee to climb Mount Everest, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mount Elbrus in Russia, Mount Kosciusko in Australia, Mount Aconcagua in South America, Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, and Mount Vinson in the United States. Despite the fact that she lost her left leg in a train accident in 2011, she never gave up on her dream. She aimed to climb each of the continent’s highest peaks and hoist the Indian national flag, which she accomplished. Her contributions were recognized with the Padma Shri award in 2015.

 

4. Dutee Chand

Dutee Chand is an Indian female sprinter who is the first Indian woman to earn a gold medal in a global competition in the 100m dash. Also, she is the current national champion in the women’s 100-meter dash. In reality, she made history by becoming the first Indian sprinter to win gold at the Universiade in 2019, clocking 11.32 seconds in the 100m. Many young men and women strive to be like her because of her story. Aside from that, she is the first openly gay athlete in India.
