Social media has not only helped people to bring out their problems before government but it also damaged people to such an extent that youth and elder people seriously attracted to it and start a relationship with a stranger especially on Facebook.
And most of the times, the result leads to heart-breaking incidents.
But this time, what happened is utterly disturbing as well as devastating incident.
A 15-year-old, intellectually disabled girl was allegedly gang-raped by six men in east Delhi’s Mandawali area by forcefully making her drink alcohol.
The girl returned home and kept silent about the incident as they threatened her not to reveal the incident to anyone. She is admitted to Lady Hardinge Hospital and is being treated for low IQ level. It was only after she went for treatment that she revealed the incident to her doctors.
Even though the incident took place on January 8, it came to light on Friday.
The victim told that she was talking a walk outside her house when one of the accused lured her to a nearby park on the pretext of offering her food. “He offered her drinks and took her to the guard’s room where five of his friends joined him,” a police official was quoted as saying in a PTI report.
The girl met the accused on social media and became friends. The two of them met after which the accused invited her to the guest house. He then made the girl consume alcohol and forced himself on her.
“Out of the six accused, three of them raped her, while the other three kept a watch. The girl is traumatized now and is undergoing treatment at a city hospital. Doctors have prescribed medicines as well. We are not disclosing the names of the accused as they live in the same colony,” said a senior police officer.
However, the police, have arrested all the accused and also sealed the guest house where the crime took place.
Another similar incident also took place where a 23-year-old guy has been arrested on the charge of raping a 17-year-old girl at a guest house on January 10 in northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar area.
