Moreover, Argentina and Portugal were knocked out on the same night. We have seen Japan was performing well in the tournament. However, they were knocked out in the round of 16 in a heartbreaking way. After, the match the Japanese players bid farewell in the most heart touching and heart winning way.
Japan Had A Healthy Lead
Both of the teams ended the first half at the score of 0-0. Just after the halftime the Japanese midfielder, Genki Haraguchi scored in the 48th minute and put Japan in the lead. Japan had another chance to celebrate when Japanese midfielder Takashi Inui put the ball in the goal. S. Kagawa assisted this one. Japan has doubled their lead and Belgium’s elimination from the tournament was near.
