Kazakhstan Plane Crash: Azerbaijan Airlines Plane With 60+ Passengers Crashes Near Aktau

The Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft carrying 60 passengers crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan. As per the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry, around 20 passengers survived, while several were believed to have died. The plane crashed near Aktau airport in Kazakhstan.

The Azerbaijan Airlines plane, originally flying from Baku to Grozny in Russia. It was rerouted due to fog. According to Russian news agencies, as per the initial reports, the Kazakhstan plane crash happened due to heavy fog at its scheduled destination.

 

Survivors Reported In Kazakhstan Plane Crash

Kazakhstan authorities said that around 20 passengers have been reported to have survived the crash in the Kazakhstan plane crash. As we still await the formal death toll, according to the Associated Press (AP) report quoting the officials, 42 people might have died in the disaster.

Videos on social media allegedly show the accident scene, showing the airplane falling to the ground and exploding into a fireball. Related scenes show first responders at the crash site, tirelessly rescuing people from the plane’s wreckage.

 

Reason For Kazakhstan Plane Crash

According to the reports, Azerbaijan Airlines’ Embraer 190 flight number 8243 was mid-air with 62 passengers and 5 crew members. It was necessitated to make an emergency landing 3 km from Aktau, Kazakhstan. Different information about the number of people on board has been reported.

The reason for the crash is still unknown, but possible technical problems are being investigated. The Emergencies Ministry of Kazakhstan added that services put out the fire, and the remaining people affected are in a hospital close by.
