The 80s and 90s were a great time for Indian cinema. It was a time when legendary movies such as Khuda Gawah, Gumrah, Mr. India, Chandni and Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja released along with many other hits. But all these movies had one thing in common. They were are starring the legendary actress Sridevi. But shockingly she is no more.
The veteran actress who had won the prestigious Padma Shree award was just 54 years old when this tragic incident happened. She had succumbed to cardiac arrest when she visited Dubai for her nephew’s wedding. The news was confirmed by a source close to the actresses’ family. They said she was in Dubai while her family members came back Sridevi, Boney and Sridevi ‘s younger daughter Kushi stayed back. Her elder daughter didn’t accompany them due to shooting schedule.
Her acting debut in Bollywood was for the movie “Solva Saman”. The first 5 years of her acting career were pretty quiet. Sridevi got her first commercial hit with the movie “Himmatwala”. After that movie, it was a life on the high road for the glamorous and talented actress. She gave many hits after that like Mawaali, Tohfa, Mr. India, Chandni, Sadma, Gumrah and much more.
There was a 15-year gap in her career after she starred in the movie “Judaai”. After the huge gap, “English Vinglish” which was released in 2012 marked her comeback. The film was a commercial success and Sridevi had also won many awards. After that, she has acted in many dramas like Mom and gave a cameo role in the movie Zero. The legend has worked in various languages and has done many versatile roles.
