Suhani was suffering from dermatomyositis (a rare disease that causes inflammation in the muscles). There are only 4-5 cases worldwide. It is very fatal for children. Doctors of AIIMS have told me that its treatment is only steroids. When doctors started giving steroids during treatment, Suhani’s body immunity started weakening. There was an infection in her body. Whatever medicines she was given, water went into her body through her muscles. The body began to accumulate water, leading to admission to the ICU due to lung damage and dangerously low oxygen levels. Despite being put on a ventilator, the oxygen levels remained insufficient. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, she breathed her last on February 17, 2024. The grief-stricken family is currently coping with the loss of their beloved daughter.
