The Maharashtra government has already provided the approved list of public holidays for the year.
Maharashtra Government Releases Public Holidays
Released on December 4, 2024, the list contains 24 public holidays. These holidays are provided under the Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, which means they would be effective for the entire state. People can plan their vacations, family gatherings, or rest days without any tension.
It is always helpful if these holidays are planned properly, people can plan their trips, festival celebrations, or long weekends accordingly. Whether anticipating a rainfall weekend or getting ready for a roaming expedition, there is much to look forward to in 2025 regarding rest.

As per the government of Maharashtra, for the calendar year 2025, there will be 24 public holidays. In addition, there will be the Bhaubeej holiday on 23-Oct-2025 (Thursday), totaling a sum of 25 holidays. However, this Bhaubeej holiday will only be availed to the State government offices, State public sector undertakings, Municipal corporations, Municipal councils, Nagar panchayats, Zilla parishads, Panchayat Samitis, and Village panchayats.
Also, there is a public holiday for the bank to close its account for the year on April 1, 2025. However, an important point is that this holiday will only apply to the banks, while all the other government offices will operate as they are.
